Growing vegetables is rewarding on so many levels! From the time you spend outdoors doing something productive of your own; to the delicious produce; to the chance to explore special interests (edible flowers, companion planting, heirloom varieties, seed-saving…); to the cameraderie with other producers — there’s just nothing to beat this.
Green Peas Organic is a nonprofit organization created by people who believe this opportunity should be available to any urban resident. Our location at TRCA’s McVean Farm, in the Claireville Conservation Area in Brampton, provides large plots with irrigation. Co-location with small farms (2-5ac) provides a unique growing experience, and the surrounding conservation area is a constant reminder of the value of developing capacity for sustainable production.
The plots community is diverse and supportive. We maintain organic practices. Whether you are a first-time grower or come from a farm family, there’s someone like you here, and some answers for your questions.
